Artist thoughts
There's something not right with the world. It's broken....I think looking at poverty, hunger, genocide, wars, theft, and the savage side of mankind will testify. We, including myself, naturally contribute to the problem because we're broken too. We tend to push boundaries that don't fit our desires or comfort levels. We're selfish and "wise in our own eyes". Because we think of ourselves first instead of others it's very easy to hurt other people as a result of "helping" ourselves. Brokenness breaks people. I was thinking about all this and God gave me a picture of a crowd of people mingling, laughing and talking but everyone had a mirror in their hands and if I was to focus on any one set of people in conversation they were really focused on their reflection instead of the other person they were with. Sounds like a smart phone doesn't it? Everyone's a rebel in their own way but we often don't see it because our actions seems right or beneficial. Maybe rebellion can be good but in comparison to what? Rebellion: the lifestyle of brokenness. |
